Hi! My name is Yuzhu (yu-ju) Liu, and I’m a junior studying journalism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I’m now an investigative reporter for CU-CitizenAccess, an online newsroom devoted to community and watchdog reporting. Previously, I worked for The Daily Illini, the university’s student newspaper, as an assistant features editor as well as for WCIA, the CBS affiliate covering Central Illinois, as a digital reporter.
My experience has allowed me to cover a wide range of issues, including government, business, education, breaking news and social justice. Other fields I explored outside journalism include sociology research and nonprofit marketing. As a bilingual journalist from Southern China, I’m highly interested in writing about international affairs.
